The At-Home Skin-Care Device That Lifts and Contours Your Face

While much of the world stays indoors and at-home beauty routines get a serious upgrade, I've turned to one facialist-approved skin-care device as an add-on to my regular routine: the NuFace.

I first discovered the micro-current tool years ago as an intern in the beauty closet back at Condé Nast’s 4 Times Square offices and have been hooked ever since. In recent years, on set for our Beauty Secrets video series, I've watched dozens of It-girls pull one out from their beauty bags, hailing it as their "desert island" must-have.

So what’s the deal with the micro-current technology? Think of the two-pronged massager like a Pilates class for your face. Micro-current technology stimulates facial muscles in just 10 minutes, tightening saggy skin and improving the appearance of fine lines. My favorite areas to use the handheld are on the edge of my jawline and at the base of my cheekbone—it's like instant contour.

The NuFace is the ultimate pre-red carpet staple for A-listers, given its immediate results. And when we asked some of the most in demand estheticians about their at-home beauty routines, the NuFace topped their list.

Although the device charges with a wall connector, I've found the battery can last up to a few weeks. Since it fits in almost any cosmetic bag, I've brought mine on vacation around the world (though curious TSA officers inspected the device in both Dubai and Hong Kong). Before using, I always be sure to clean the prongs with an alcohol wipe and slather on the gel primer. While we’re all looking for solutions to prolong the effects of our last facial, consider the NuFace the best bang for your buck.
